Cate, Lindsey, Koontz, Snyder, Foster, Pollard, McCampbell Looking for burial site for James Cate b1790 and Elizabeth Lindsey Cate b 1790. The lived on Sevier, Jefferson Co. line in Dumplin Community. James's father John Sr., is buried Dumplin Cemetery. Children James Baldwin b1821 , Annie Cate Koontz b1825, Elizabeth "Bettie" Cate Snyder b1826 are buried in Baldwin Cate Cemetery. Some of John's other children are buried in Pollard Cemetery. Would think James and Elizabeth should have a stone which has survived but unable to locate. Would appreciate help, on this issue or any information pertaining to this family. Have more information and willing to share.

Joseph sell 16 Acres to Americus b1849 d???? TN and Phoebe Foster b1859 AR. Americus sells 16 acres to Thomas Andrew Foster b1869 d???? their Nephew who cared Aunt Pheobe untill her death or his ???? 1900 Census list at home Joseph 56, Mary 48, James (jimmy) 20, Adda 18, Walter 12, Rachael 8. 1910 Census list Mary 58, Walter 22, Racheal 18. What happen to Jimmy and Adda Foster, was there and epidemic ???? Joseph died 1905, Mary died 1914 per minutes of Dumplin Church. 1920 Censu List James Foster b1917 d1983, (son of Walter Foster who dies in Service, and Sue Cate), and Racheal Foster as only surving members. Would like any information pertaining to the Family, suspect all of being buried in Baldwin Cate Cemetery???? I have large amount of infromation on Foster Family and will to share.

According to family tradition, Thomas D. Dobkins was born 1781 in E. TN. He married Mary Brickey after her first husband, John McAdams died (date unknown). Their first child, John, was born 20 Jan.1811. They moved to MO in 1817 with Mary's father, Girrard, and several other Brickeys. Thomas died 1822 in Washington, Co., MO and Mary died in Crawford Co., MO in 1858. Thomas, John and Evan DOBKINS received E. TN Land Grants on Dunn's Creek in Sevier Co. in 1810. Evan possibly was Thomas' father; if not, then it very likely was Reuben. I would like to hear from anyone with information about this family. She apparently was not a member of one of the Ballinger families that belonged to the Quaker group at Lost Creek MM because David rec'd a letter of dismissal for "marrying outside of the faith". Her father might have been Greenberry BERKSHIRE who married Mary Brownfield in Harrison Co. on February 14, 1811. Grunberry/Greenberry is listed in the 1810 Census for Harrison Co. Another relative might be Joshua BERKSHIRE who is also listed in the 1810 Census. Lucretia married Robert EPPS on July 24, 1845 in Jerrerson Co.

A Samuel ETHERTON md. Charlotte CONNER in Cocke Co. in 1790. Micajah ETHERTON b. abt 1800 md. Rachel FAUBION/FARBIN/FARLON in Washington Co. in 1817. Thomas ETHERTON b. 1783 md. Jennie/Jane LIPE. Thomas and Jennie's son James ETHERTON b. abt 1810 md Margaret MEREDITH in 1826 Cocke Co. This family migrated to southern Illinois in the period 1815-1826. Any additional information appreciated.

GRANT I am searching for the parents of Amanda Catherine GRANT, b. 12 July 1836 TN, d. 19 July 1896 New Market, Jefferson Co TN, m. 15 April 1857 Jefferson Co. TN to Daniel Benjamin F. FOLAND, b. ca 1835 in Rockingham Co. VA. She probably had a sister, Julia GRANT, who married Daniel FOLAND's brother, George FOLAND, on 12 January 1860 in Jefferson Co. Were they from the Isaac GRANT (born 1760 -70) line of Jefferson Co.? He had sons David, James, John and Isaac Jr. all born in TN ca 1800 - 1810. In 1878, in Jefferson Co., David officiated at the marriage of Amanda's daughter, Lucretia Jane FOLAND, to John Wesley LANE. I would appreciate hearing from any GRANT or FOLAND researchers.

Joshua Ashmore b-1760 NC, join Md. Malitia in Somerset Co. at age 16/17 In Greene co. 1784-1794,was in Roane Co, 1801[Militia again]. Married abt 1894, first child b-1795/96 In Lawrence Co. Tn. by 1815, neighbor of David Crockett, lived in Law. Co until 1840, went to Pope Co. Ark. to be with three of his children there, died 1846. Cannot find any military record on Joshua, cannot find who he married, Just Mary ?? Also cannot find who his parents were, Possibly James and Elizabeth Balch Ashmore, both born in Harford Co. LANE I am searching for the parents of John J. LANE, b. 1825 Jefferson Co., a lawyer who lived in Dandridge. John J. married Matilda Caroline PENCE in Jefferson Co. 27 May 1847. In 1859, they moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. They were back in TN by 1862, residing in Roane Co.( now Loudon Co.) John J. died in Loudon Co. in January, 1871. Their children: 1. Mary Ellen b. 1848 (info unknown after 1872) 2. John Wesley b. January 1850 (my gggfather) moved back to Jefferson Co. and married Lucretia FOLAND in 1878 3. William R. b. 1853 d. ca 1871 4. Emily Alice b. 1854 (info unknown after 1872) 5. Josephine b. 1856 (info unknown after 1872) John J. administered the estate of George Richard LANE in 1859.
