WHITE / PENCE / LANE I am searching for the descendants of Solomon A. WHITE, b. ca 1827 TN and his wife, Cyntha Adaline PENCE, b. 1827, in Haywood Co., NC. They were married in 1847 in Jefferson Co., TN. Cyntha was the sister of Matilda Caroline PENCE, who married John J. LANE in Jefferson Co., in 1847. Solomon was the son of Charles WHITE, b. ca 1793 NC, and his wife Cassandra. Charles' parents were James WHITE, b. ca 1765 NC, and Betsy, b. ca 1762 NC. BROWN I am searching for information on a family of by the name of BROWN who were on the 1850 Jefferson Co., TN census. Then they disappeared. Where did they go? Francis BROWN, b. ca 1785 SC; his wife Franky, b. ca 1800 SC. What was Franky's maiden name? Could it have been DAVIS, then she married a PENCE? I believe she MIGHT have been (no proof, only a guess)the mother of my Matilda Caroline PENCE, b. 1825 in NC, who married John J. LANE in 1847 in Jefferson Co. I was checking to see if anyone did look ups in Jefferson Co. I would like to find a marriage record for William F Pate who married Mary ?? (possibley last name Pate),. Or anyone having information on this family. They married ca 1875 and have found Bible Records showing a son Ira Thomas Pate, but there seems to be a mix up, there is also a William F Pate in Weakley Co who md a Mary Pate ca 1864, and am trying to determine which one is which. He was also a Justice of the Peace in Jefferson Co., TN. He then m(2) Sarah Temperance FORD, b. 1822 in TN, d. 1896 near Jackson Co. MO. Rice, Smith Seeking information on the RICE families living in Jefferson Co. TN in early 1800 - my gggrandfather John G. W. RICE married Lavina Jane SMITH in Jefferson County 26 July 1827. In 1850 census John G.W. RICE and his children were listed in Decatur Co. TN. Have no information what the initials G.W. represent. This makes John G. W. difficult to track. He could be referenced as John or by the initials G. W or whatever name they represented. His daughter Priscilla named one of her children Georgeann which may indicate that G. stood for George. There were a number of RICE's living in Jefferson County in the early 1800's. i.e Augustus, William, Lewillin and John Presley. I seek information to establish John G. W.'s relationship, if any, with these Jefferson County RICE's. Also seek information on the SMITH's of Jefferson County who could be related to Lavina Jane SMITH.
