January, 1828 - No Minutes???

February 2nd 1828 - The Church met & after divine Service proceded to business - 1st. - took up a grievance against Br. Clemmon Sanders for malicious anger & in threatening to beat James Russle and afterwards doing the Act and also absenting himself from his family as well as the Church and the matter laid over till next meeting.

March 1st 1828 - The Church met & after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - took up the greivance against Br. Clemmon Sanders & after some investigation the Brother yet absent and not coming personally before the Church as she thinks that he ought and payed no regard to the letter that he sent thinking it would be improper - Therefore proceed to excommunicate him from the Church for malicious anger & beating of James Russle & for fleeing from the laws of his Country and intirely absenting himself from us.

April 4th 1828 - The Church met and after divine Service Dismissed.

May 2nd 1828 - The Church met on fryday and after divine Service dismissed by prayer by the Moderator till tomorrow - the Church met and after divine Service opened a doore for the Reception of members - 1st. - Rec'd Charles Elder by experience - 2nd. - Restored Joseph Mcfarlin - 3rd. - Rec'd David Bettis by letter also his wife Nancy Bettis by letter.

June 7th 1828 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - after finding the Church in fellowship opened a doore for the Reception of members - 1st. - Rec'd Elizabeth Mcfarlin by experience - 2nd. - John Travillian by expr. - 3rd. - Simon French by expr. - 4th. - Susanna Cate by expr. - 5th. - Richard Thornburgh - 6th. - Rheubin Baker by expr. - 7th - Catharine Manard by expr. - 8th. - Reuthy French by expr. Then dismissed till tomorrow morning 10 O'clock.

July 5th 1828 - The Church met & after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Rec'd Margaret Elder (p.94) by letter - 2nd. - Br. Clemmon Sanders came forward and offers acknowledgments for the charges that the Church had Excommunicated him for and the Church seames williang to receive his Acknowlegments & Restore him to fellowship again, provided hims and Br. Mills could come to a oneness as the Church is aprised that the fellowship was broke between them and Br. Mills not being present the matter laid over till tomorrow morning 10 o'clock - 3rd. - Newman's Fanny by experience - 4th. - Br. John Cate Sr. came forward & offers some confession for the offencis in which the Church excommunicated him for & the Church seames not willing to restore him at this time but lays the matter over till next meeting for further consideration - 5th. - Br. Cate requests a bill of charges that the Church has against him & granted - 6th - the Church met according to adjournment to finish Business concerning Br. Sanders & Br. Mills & Sanders was present and having settled the matter of controvery between themselves then the Church proceeded to restore him that is Br. Sanders to fellowship again and granted his request for a letter of dismission as he has all reddy removed from us.

August 2nd 1828 - The Church met & after divine Service proceeded to open a doore for to receive members by consent of the Church none coming forward then took up the deferance of last meeting concerning Br. John Cate and after some investigation the Church seames not willing to restore him - 2nd. - Br. Thomas Kelly requested a letter of dismission and granted - 3rd. - the Church agrees that the Association be held as heretofore without Sacrament.

September 5th 1828 - The Church met & after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - appoints Br. Humphrey Mount & John Elder deligates to our next Association to be held at the fork of Little Pigeon commencing on fryday before the 1st. Saturday in Oct. next - Then dismissed till tomorrow - Saturday morning met and after divine Service opened a door for the reception of members - 1st. - Rec'd Michael Cate by Experience - 2nd. - Susan Cate by Expr. - 3rd. - Dorcas Manard by Expr.

October 2nd 1828 - The Church met - 1st. - ordination and after a sermon being delivered by Elder James Kennon proceeded to business - 1st. - the letter to the Association red & received - 2nd - the Church took in consideration the ordination of Br. Noah Cate to the Clergy and on trying the Church on that matter she appears unanimous in favor of his ordination - then proceeded to set apart the 5th Saturday in Nov. for that purpose and Sunday for preaching and calls the following presbytery (viz) Brethren Duke Kimbrough, Isaac Barton, Liehu Millican, Henry Randolph, John Lockert, James Kennon, Richard Wood, Elijah Rogers, Daniel Layman & Samuel Love - then dismissed till the 1st. Saturday in Nov. next.

November 1st 1828 - The Church met after prayer proceeded to business. James G. Newman & his wife Elizabeth M. Newman requests letters of dismission & granted.

November 29th 1828 - The Church met on Saturday before meeting in Course for the purpose of ordaining Br. Noah Cate to the Clergy, then after prayer the following presbytery to wit -- Br. Duke Kimbrough, Richard Wood, Thos. Hill, Hen. Randolph, Samuel Love, (p.96) Elijah Rogers a part of the presbytery called by the Church, proceeded to & ordained him to the Clergy or before sd.

December 1828 - Church meeting was omitted on the account of the inclemency of the wether.

January 3rd 1829 - The Church met and after divine service proceeded to business - 1st. - Red the minutes of our last Association - 2nd. - the time of holding our Church meeting is chainged from the 1st Saturday to the 2nd. Saturday.

February 14th 1829 - The Church met and after divine Servis - no business to so dismissed.

March 14th 1829 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Rec'd Br. Charles Kelly & his wife Nancy Kelly by letter.

April 10th 1829 - The Church met on fryday according to appointment and nothing done - Saturday the suckseading day the Church met again & after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Rec'd Elizabeth Elder by experience - 2nd. - Delily Manard by recantation and expr. - 3rd. - Rec'd Elizabeth Newman by expr. - 4th - Elizabeth Joiner by expr.

May 9th 1829 - The Church met & after worship proceeded to Business - 1st. - Br. Thomas Jones came forward & made acknowledgment for his miss conduct in getting angry and attempting to fight and for drinking too much Sperrits and the Church forgive him his fault - 2nd. - Quary - Shall he continue as deacon any longer or not and the matter laid over till next meeting for the consideration of the Church. - 3rd. - A grievance taken up against Br. John Elder for acting imprudently with a young woman about his house & for absenting himself from us & for abruptly refusing to attend Church meeting, also for treating his wife unbecoming, for which the Church Excommunicated him from fellowship.

June 13th 1829 - The Church met & after worship proceeded to business - 1st. - took up the Quary of last meeting concerning Br. Joneses deaconship and the Church after mature consideration continues him as deacon - 2nd. - The Church took up a grievance against Neel's (Isaac) for drinking too much Spirrits and for neglecting Church meeting and appoints Br. Thos. Jones & Rich Thornburg to talk to him & cite him to attend our next Church meeting.

July 1829 - The Church met & after Worship proceeded to business - 1st. - Rec'd Gillelian by Experance.

August 8th 1829 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to bisiness - 1st. - took up the Reference of June meeting against Neal's (Isaac) and Excommunicated him from the fellowship of the Church for drinking too much Spirits and not attending Church meeting.

September 4th 1829 - The Church met and after worship proceeded to business - 1st. - Sister McFalin came forward and confest to the Church her fault and the Church forgave her & Restored her to fellowship again - 2nd. - Appoints Br. H. Mount, Elijah Cate & Noah Cate deligates to our next Association to be held at the mouth of Richland, Grainger County.

October 10th 1829 - The Church met and after Worship was dismissed.

November 14th 1829 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - took up a grievance against Sister Margaret Elder for absenting herself from us & joining the Methodist Society and immediately excludes her from the Chruch - 3rd. - Rec'd Susannah Putman by experance.

December 1829 - The Church met and after Worship was dismissed.

January 9th 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - the Church took up the matter concerning the appointment of deacon & after the mature consideration of the Church for several months it appears that Br. Anderson Schein is the unanimous choice of the Church that he should be deacon.

February 13th 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Br. And. Scheine not being present last meeting & is now present and submits to the choice of the Church & serve as deacon & appoints our next April meeting for the ordination of Br. Scheine & enjoins it and Br. Noah & Elisha Cate to request Bro. Woods & Rogers to attend at the same time to assist in the work - 2nd. - Br. Willis Hammons came forward to the Church and makes full satisfaction to the sd. Church - Therefore the Church Restores him to fellowship as a member and also restores him to his Ministerial functions again as was before - 3rd. - Sister Ellender Sellers requests a letter of dismission and granted.

March 13th 1830 - The Church met & after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Rec'd Rachel Davis by letter - 2nd. - the Church took up a grievance against Sister Nancy Elder for moving off without applying to the Church for a letter & after some investigation of the matter the Church concludes (p.99) to wait till there can be an opportunity of conversing on the subject.

April 10th 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - proceed to the work of ordaining Br. Anderson Skeine to the Office of deacon with the following presbytory to wit - Richard Wood, Elijah Rogers, Duke Kimbrough, Willis Hamons, John Lockhert & Noah Cate.

May 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - opened a door for the reception of members & rec'd Margaret Thornburg & James Carmon by Experience.

June 12th 1830 - The Church met & after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Br. T. Jones came forward with an acknowledgment confessing he had been drinking too much Sperrits &c. and submit the matter to the Church - Therefore the Church forgives him & continue him in fellowship but removes him from the Office of Deacon.

July 10th 1830 - The Church met and after Worship proceeded to inquire for the fellowship of the Church & all appears to be in peace.

August 15th 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Opened door for the reception of members and - 2nd. - appoints Anderson Scheine, Richard Thornburg & Noah Cate Delligates to our next Association.

September 10th 1830 - The Church met on fryday & after Worship dispensed of the business before us till next meeting - Saturday the 11th - The Church met and after divine Service proceeded to open a doore for the reception of members - 1st. - Rec'd John N. Lockert by experience - 2nd. - Margaret Elder Rec'd by Recantation and request a letter of Dismission and granted - 3rd. - Rheubin Baker and request letters of Dismission & granted.

October 9th 1830 - The Church met & after Divine Service proceeded to business - 1st. - Rec'd Huldah French by expr. - 2nd. - Br. James Mills requested a letter of Dismission and granted - 3rd. - Having Rec'd Sister Delily Manard sum months past the second time by experience as well as by Recantation & sum difficulty arose respecting her being rebaptised on the account of her husband being so violently oposed to it. Therefore the Church agrees that she may be allowed Church privileges without being rebaptised but not to make a practice of it.

November, 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service - no business & was dismissed.

December, 1830 - The Church met and after divine Service - no business & was dismissed.
