January 13th 1816 -- the Church met it Being in Course -- 1 -- took up the Reference from Last meeting concerning Black Dick the members that were appointed cited him to attend and he did not attend and he is excommunicated from the Union of this Church for drinking & swearing.

February 9th 1816 -- the Church met it Being in Course -- 1 -- granted Letters of dismission for Nancy Romines and Sister Lydia Willson.

March 9th 1816 -- the Church met it Being meeting in Course -- 1 -- the Church appointed Br. Samuel Elder to cite Br. Rogers to attend our Sacrament -- the 2nd Sunday in Aprile also appointed Br. John Elder to cite Brother Wood.

April 12th 1816 -- the Church met it being meeting in Course.

Saturday 11th May 1816 -- Church met and after worship proceeded to Business -- 1 -- Appointed Brethren Isaac Newman, Charles Cate, Robert Elder to attend our Union meeting held at Providence meeting house on flat Creek -- 2 -- Appointed Isaac Newman Jr. and John Richards to cite Wm. Ellis to attend the 3rd Saturday in June the time appointed for next meeting on Account of some Reports going about him -- 3rd -- Isaac Richards brought a Letter to this Church from the fork of Pigeon on account of none-fellowship subsisting between Sister Robinson and sd. Richards -- this Church could not Receive him -- 4 -- the Church agreed to write a few Lines to Pigeon Church stating the cause why we could not Receive him adjourned -- 5 -- Rec'd Sister Rachel Davis By Letter.

June 15th 1816 -- the Church met it Being meeting in Course -- 1 -- the Reference concerning Br. Wm. Ellis which in the first instance was for fighting in his own defence -- the Brethring that were appointed to cite him cited him and he did not attend -- the Church appointed Br. Charles Kelly Senior and John Cate appointed to visit him and Site him to attend our next meeting in Course -- 2 -- Br. Charles Kelly Brought a letter of dismission from Big Pigeon and was Received.

July 13th 1816 -- the Church met it Being meeting in Course -- 1- the Brethren appointed to visit Br. Wm. Ellis visited him and he did not attend the Church agreed to lay it over till next meeting.

August 14th 1816 -- Church met according to appointment after divine Service proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- Br. Wm. Ellis came forward to the Church and maid acknowledgement -- the Church satisfide -- 2 -- Brethren appointed to the Association Viz -- Isaac Newman -- Wm. Elder & Charles Kelley Jr. -- 3 -- Brethren Joseph Sullins & Wm. Elder to cite Br. Humphrey Mount to attend our next meeting -- 4 -- the Church agreed that the 28th day of August 1816 should be appointed for fasting and prayer.

September 20th 1816 -- Church met according to appointment after devine Servis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- the Record is November 10th 1815 -- has become void in Consequence of agreement Betwixt the parties at preasent Br. Mount agrees to take $15 worth of plank of Br. Newman and Be Reconciled.

October 19th 1816 -- Church met according to appointment after devine Servis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- Rachel Davis Request a letter of dismission -- is granted -- 2 -- and appoints Joseph Sullins to Rite his Letter of dismission.

November 9th 1816 -- the Church met it Being meeting in Course -- 1 -- the Church proceeds to Appoint Br. Joseph Sullins for their Clerk -- instead of Joshua Newman Resigned -- 2 -- the Church unanimously agreed to purchase a blank book to transcribe the Records of the Church.

December 14th 1816 -- Church met Being meeting in Course. After divine Survis proceeds to Buisness -- 1 -- taken up a distress against Sister More for leaving hir husband -- 2 -- Breathren John Cate and Charles Kelly Sr. to cite Sister More to attend our next meeting.

January 11th 1817 -- the Church met after divine Survis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- taken up Reference against Sister More & Laid over till next meeting for further infermation -- 2 -- Br. Charles Kelley aplied for a letter of dismission & granted.

February 8th 1817 -- Church met in Course & after divine Survis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- taken up the distress against Sister More and has excommunicated Sister More from the fellowship of this Union for leaving hir husband -- 3 -- Rec'd Br. Isaac Cantrell by Letter.

March 8th 1817 -- Church met in Course & after divine Survis proceeded to Business -- 1 -- the Church Laid Br. John Richards under Sensure for his Acks in promising and not proforming -- Laid over till next meeting in Course. 2 -- Appoints Brethren John Elder & Sullins to cite Br. Wm. Ellis to attend next meeting on account of a distress against him for fighting -- 3 -- Rec'd Sister Elizabeth Barnes by experience.

Aprile 11th 1817 -- Church met in Cours and after divine Survis proceeded to business -- 1st. Br. John Richards Laid over till next meeting -- 2 -- Wm. Ellis Laid over till next meeting & Brethren Samuel Elder & Joseph Sullins to cite Br. Ellis to attend our next meeting.

May the 10th 1817 -- Church met & after Survis proceeded to Bisnes -- 1 -- Br. John Richards Laid over till next meeting -- 2 -- Br. Ellis attended and not full Satisfaction given -- Laid over till next meeting -- 3 -- Brethren Isaac Newman Cenr. & Br. John F. Henderson appointed delegates to Big Piggin Union.

June 14th 1817 -- the Church met and after divine Survis -- 1 -- the matter concerning Br. Richards Taken up and Laid over till next meeting -- 2 -- The matter against Br. Wm. Ellis Laid over till next meeting and appointed Brethren John F. Henderson & H. Mount to cite him to next meeting in Cours.

Saturday the 12th of July 1817 -- Church met and after worship proceided to Buisness -- 1 -- the matter of grievance against Br. John Richards Brought forward and the Church acquitted him of Censure on his acknowledgment -- 2 -- the grievance against Wm. Ellis Laid over to next meeting -- the Church calls for helps -- Br. Jones and Henderson to apply to French Broad & (p.63) Jones and John Cate to apply to flat Creek at the same time to answer a request of the Church -- Br. Thomas Jones appointed Br. Wm. Elder to be called to act as their dacon -- adjorned.

Sunday the 13th of July 1817 -- the saim meeting Church met and opend a dore -- 1 -- Rec'd Br. John Mount By Letter -- 2 -- Rec'd Sister Mournin Witt By Experience -- adjorned.

August 9th 1817 -- Church of Christ met after divine Survis proceeded to Buisness - 1 -- the grievance against Br. Wm. Ellis taken up concerning an additional charge of Baibling to which having made confession and Repentance the Church forgave him for that and the first charge Likewise. Sunday following -- 10th -- day after preaching the Church came together and opened a door to Receive members -- 1 -- Rec'd by Experience Sister Sally Newman -- 2 -- Rec'd by Expr. Sister Patcy Witt -- 3 -- Br. Joseph Sullins appointed to write a Letter to the Association and Brethren Humphrey Mount, John F. Henderson and Elisha Cate deligates to the next Association -- 4 -- Our next Communion Season to be at our meeting in October in Course -- 5 -- Wm. Ellis not attending appoints Brethren John Elder & Sullins to cite him to attend our next meeting -- adjourned.

September 13th 1817 -- the Church met and after prayer proceeded to Business -- 1 -- taken up the grievance against Br. Wm. Ellis and aquited Br. Wm. Ellis of his charge in not attending meeting.

October 10th 1817 -- the Church met & after divine Survis proceeded To Bisness -- 1 -- Laid Br. John Cate Sr. under Sensure of this Church for his Rash Language and his declaring an unfellowship against this Church -- 2 -- Appoints Brethring Robert Elder and Jos. Sullins to cite Br. John Cate to our next meeting in Course -- 3 -- Br. John Mount Requested a Letter of dismission and granted -- 4 -- Br. Samuel Elder & his wife Requested Letters of dismission and granted -- 5 -- Rec'd Br. Aaron Cate & his wife By Letter.

November 8th 1817 -- the Church met & after divine Survis proceeded to Business -- 1 -- taken up the greivance against John Cate Senr. & is Obliges to Excommunicate him from the fellowship of this Church for his Rash Language in Saying that this Church is to him as a heathen man and a publican and declares a non fellowship against this Church -- 2 -- Appoints Breathren John Cate & Robt. Elder to Cite Br. Wm. Ellis to next meeting -- 3 -- Appoints Brth. Wm. Elder & John Elder to cite Br. John Richards to next meeting -- 4 -- the Church unanimously chose Br. Wm. Elder To be their deacon on futher Examination.

December 13th 1817 -- the Church met and after divine Survis proceeded to Buisness -- 1 -- taken up the Refference from Last Meeting concerning Wm, Ellis and the Church has Excommunicated him from fellowship of this Church for gambling and neglecting to hear the Church -- 2 -- taken up the Refference From Last meeting concerning Br. John Richards and the Church has Excommunicated him from The fellowship of this Church for gambling and neglecting to hear the Church -- 3rd -- the matter concerning Br. Wm. Elder continued -- The churches choice for their deacon -- 4 -- Not obene a neglect of inroling the Breathrens names From Last meeting -- John Cate and H. Mount and Wm. Elder to see John Cate Esquier concerning Land whare this Meeting house stands -- 5 -- Appoints Brethren H. Mount and Robert Elder trustees to see to the running out said Land and to git the Rite for said Land Likewise -- to Receive the money for said Land and to git deed Recorded.

January 10th 1818 -- the Church met and after Divine Survis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- Reference concerning Br. Wm. Elder as our choice for deacon Laid over till next meeting in Course. -- 2 -- Appoints Br. Isaac Newman & Br. Charles Kelly to Cite Sister Lucy Cate to attend our next meeting -- 3 -- Appointed Br. Thomas Jones & Br. Robert Newman to Cite Sister Betsey Grissom to attend our next meeting.

February 14th 1818 -- the Church met and after Divine Survis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- Sister Lucy Cate not attending Breathring appointed to Cite hir to next meeting -- Isaac Newman & John F. Henderson & Joseph Sullins -- 2 -- Sister Grissom not attending Laid over till next meeting -- 3 -- the mater concerning Br. Wm. Elder as our deacon Laid over till next meeting -- 4 -- Dumplin Church Rec'd Laid deed for said land whare said meeting house now stands.

April 11th 1818 -- the Church met and after divine Survis proceeded to Bisness -- 1 -- the Reference concerning Sister Grissom's non-attendance Laid over till next meeting & appoints Sister Nancy Jones & Betsey Barns to cite hir to next meeting -- 2 -- the Breathering Wm. Elder and Charles Cate reconciled -- 3 -- the matter concerning our choice of deacon Wm. Elder Laid over for awhile -- Nelly Sellars (p.67) came forward desirous to be admitted to fellowship of this Church acknowledging that she had Been a Member of a Church in Montgomery in Virginia and was excommunicated for hir non-attendance And the Church agrees to whare she was excommunicated -- 5 -- the Church appoints Bro. Thomas Jones and Bro. Benj. Neal to cite Neal's (Isaac) to attend next meeting to make his acknowledgmetn for drinking too much Liquor -- 6 -- the Church appointed Breathren John F. Henderson -- Wm. Elder & H. Mount as Trustee's to hier a man to cover the Meeting house and pay the Expence and to Receive the Work after it is done.

Saturday, 9th of May 1818 -- and after worship proceeded to Business -- 1 -- A Referance with Regard to Sister Grissom being cited to attend -- hir Excuse was Taken and the Church waits on her -- 2nd -- A Reference with regard to Elener Sellers as was stated Last meeting was proceided on and she was Rec'd on her Recantation -- 3rd -- a Reference with regard to Isaac was taken up and after some conference The Church not receiving satisfaction at present but agreed to wait with him till next meeting -- 4th -- the Church Being grieved from the Reports passing against Rebecah Cate called on Elizabeth Kimbrough & Salley Elder to visit her and make known the matter against next meeting -- 5th -- the Church agreed So appoints two members -- John F. Henderson & John Elder to Try and average on all the members a sum agreeable to their circumstances -- none to pay more then one dollar at a time and so on in (p.68) proportion in order to support a fund for the Expence of this Church -- Humphrey Mount to settle with the above named trustee's for the Church.

Saturday, 13th of June 1818 -- Church met and after worship proceeded to Bisnes -- 1st -- the matter concerning Sister Grissom -- she came forward and the Church satisfied -- 2 -- a reference with regard to Isaac was taken up and his Being absent Laid over till next meeting -- 3 -- the greivance concerning Sister Rebecah Cate Laid over till next meeting on the account of some individuals -- 4 -- the Church Rec&d Br. Matthias Teag By Letter.

July 11th 1818 -- Church met and after duty proceeded To bisnes -- 1 -- the greavance concerning Rebecah Cate taken up and has Excommunicated her from the fellowship of this Church for having a base Begotten Child -- 2 -- Rec'd Br. Wm. Burnet and Doshy his wife and their two sons John & Nathan Burnet By Letter -- 3 -- Appoints Breathren as helps to the Arm of the fork of Little Pigin at Providence -- Isaac Newman Senr., Thomas Jones and Isaac Cantrell -- Wm. Burnet and Charles Kelly and John Cate -- 4 -- Rec'd Sister Rachel Cate By Experience -- 5 -- the Referance concerning Neal's (Isaac) Laid over till next meeting.

August 8th 1818 -- the Church met and after Devine Survis proceeded to Bisnes -- 1 -- the Referance concerning Neal's Isaac taken up and his Being absent Laid over till next meeting & apoints Br. Thomas Jones & Wm. Burnet to Cite him to our next meeting -- 2 -- the Church appoints Br. Elisha Cate to inquire of Black Betsey's Master wheather he has any objections of her coming to our meeting -- 3 -- the Church appoints Br. Isaac Newman to Providence To Request helps and Elisha Cate to Boid's Creek for Helps of ordination of a deacon -- 4 -- the Church appoints Brethren Isaac Cantrell & Thomas Jones as our deligates To our next Association at Dumplin Creek -- 5 -- Rec'd Cate's (Ceyah) By Experience -- Casinda Cantrell came forward with her Letter of dismission and was Rec'd.

September 12th 1818 -- the Church met and after Survis proceeded to Bisnes -- 1- Chose Br. Lockhart Moderator -- 2 -- taken up the Reference concerning Neal's (Isaac) and forgave him -- 3 -- taken up the Reference concerning (Black Betsey) and the Church satisfied - 4 -- the Church taken up a charge against Br. Robt. Elder concerning his conduct and Laid over till next meeting and apoints Br. John Cate & Robert Newman to cite him to our next meeting -- 5 -- Sister Molly Routh Requested a letter of dismission and granted.

October the 9th, 1818 - The Church met and after Survis proceeded to business -1st. - taken up grievance concerning Br. Robert Elder called for By the Church came forward and after a fair indevestigation find that he has urd from the truth and has laid him under censure of the Church and has Laid it over till next meeting - 2nd. - the prispatara called for has attended and after a true examination on Br. Wm. Elder as deacon is Rec'd and proceeded on His ordination on tomorrow - on Saturday 10th - 1st. - proceeded on the Bisnes of ordination and ordained Br. Wm. Elder to Be our deacon - 2nd. - Hannah More came forward with a recantation and was Received into the fellowship of this Church.

November 14th 1818 - The Church met and after worship proceeded to business - 1st. - Taken up the Reference concerning Bro. Robert Elder and he came forward & the Church Rec'd his acknowledgement for their satisfaction - 2nd. - Bro. Joseph Sullins Resigns the Clerks office and the Church appoints Bro. Elisha Cate - 3rd. - Bro. John F. Henderson Requests a letter of Dismission and it is granted to him.

December 12th 1818 - The Church met and after worship proceeded to Business - 1st. - Isaac Cantrell request a Letter of Dismission and it is granted.
